Teaser: Sapphire Night is a Night Blood. She lives in a world of gods, living shadows, and a night sky that was painted by her ancestors. She lives in a home of silent meals, medicinal Band-Aids, and constant mental health struggles caused by family. Sapphire will immerge from her darkness with the help of friends and a new boy to her school that is washed in mystery. She will come into her identity and into herself, then she will have to fight the shadows and age-old hatreds to hold onto what she’s gained within herself and within those she loves.
Charlotte Harper's first novel, When Night Rises, is a story of mental health struggles, coming into one's identity despite family and society, and ultimately, self-love.
